Cardiac Surgeon

Deuteronomy 30:6 (NKJV)

And the Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the hearts of your descendants, to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may live. Deuteronomy 30:6 happens to be one of my favorite scriptures in the entire Bible because it answers some many questions. How do I love God entirely? How do I get my heart to be moved by the things that move the heart of God? Why do I feel as if I fail to love the way I should?

God begins by drawing us into the place of personal heart surgery. He says I will perform an operation on your heart myself! The Lord will mark your heart with a covenant He makes with you and at the same time cuts away all that is unnecessary. There is truly only one thing we do in this whole process…lay our life down before the Great Cardiac Surgeon (Most of us already knew Him as the great Physician but He specializes in heart surgery). Trusting God through total surrender to Christ is God’s only plan for change on the heart level.

Next you cannot help but to see the benefits of this Holy procedure. You love God with an undivided heart. He does the surgery and you begin to love Him like never before. There is not a failure rate attached to this like most medical treatments we receive from men. Love for God will burst forth from the one who has allowed the hand of God unfettered access to their heart. God is so good that He removes all things on the heart and soul level that hinder love.

Finally God says He does the surgery, love for God starts to flow, and you begin to live. Life is available to all who will surrender in covenant with God. He takes the broken heart of humanity, restores (circumcises) it, and releases it to love Him. All who walk in the love for God and the love of God begin to truly live. This is true life. We surrender. We Love…We Live…all because of Him.

We love him because He first loved us! 1 John 4:19
